The Vibe: With a reputation for being a trendy hotspot, Long Table is famous for their unique dining concept based around their one of a kind 25 meter long dining table. Developed by the creative team behind Bed Supperclub, this is destination dining with a focus on Thai fusion food that will appeal to a wide demographic. Located on the 25th Floor of the Column Building, they offer stunning city views, eye catching video art and a sleek and contemporary interior. Guests can opt to dine at their signature communal "long table", or at separate Asian style tables where they can kick off their shoes and put up their feet. Long Table attracts a sophisticated and eclectic mix of locals and expats, as well as a fair amount of families and the upwardly mobile after work business crowd.

What to Eat & Drink: For a starter we recommend the Grilled Chiang Mai Sausage, Crispy Pork Belly, Minced Pork w/ Roasted Rice & Herbs. This is a tasty and spicy celebration of the various ways to enjoy pork Thai style. Also try the Steamed Tiger Prawn Salad which is bursting with enormous succulent shrimp. Both appetizers are large enough to share between several people and are served with optional jasmine rice. For your main course try the Alaskan King Crab w/ Asparagus & Yellow Curry as well as the Wok Fried Lamb Tenderloin w/ Holy Basil & Mushrooms along with a glass of Crane Lake Pinot Noir, 2011. While both dishes may have benefited from a bit more chili heat, they were well seasoned and expertly prepared. The desserts are well worth trying and we recommend the Chocolate Tart w/ Vanilla Sauce and Cappuccino Ice Cream as well as their avant garde version of Mango w/ Sticky Rice & Kiwi.

Insider Insights: If you don't feel like having a sit down dinner, you can chill out with the daily "Sundowners" happy hour from 5PM to 730PM on the sprawling terrace with their live DJ. This is a real crowd pleaser allows you to enjoy buy 1 get 1 free on selected wine, beer and cocktails, as well as enjoy a special menu of tapas style Thai and international snack foods for only 399Baht ++ per person. The service is pretty good at Long Table and they offer set dinner options on the main menu priced between 1290 - 1490Baht++ in addition to the ala carte menu. In the main dining area Long Table is open daily for drinks from 5PM to 2AM and dinner is served from 6PM to 1045PM with a limited snack menu available until 140AM. Call ahead for reservations at 02 302 2557-9.
