Bonjour Restaurant is a large 2- story house that has been converted into a restaurant. The color scheme inside is burgundy, white, black and gray and features ample low lighting that is perfect for a romantic meal. Outside the restaurant features beautiful gardens, a welcoming fountain and relaxing waterside seating made for sipping wine by the firelight. The service is impeccable and the attention to detail becomes immediately apparent when you first arrive and are served homemade mini banquettes with butter that are piping hot and fresh from the oven.
Bonjour currently offers a lunch and dinner set that changes daily as it is based on what chef BuuM selects from the market. This is a 2 course lunch set for 499Baht or a 3 course dinner set for 999Baht which includes free flow water and coffee or tea. The day I visited Bonjour, course 1 of the lunch special was Ratatouille with Yellow Fin Tuna which was refreshing, light, and delicately balanced. The ratatouille maintained the firmness of the vegetables which was a nice match with the softness of the raw tuna. The 2nd course was Pan-Fried Chicken with a Tomato and Vinegar Sauce. It was well seasoned, the skin was crispy, the chicken moist and juicy, and the sauce was the perfect complement. Another lunch special is the “Make Your Own Promotion” where you can select 2 courses for 690Baht or 3 courses for 980Baht and mix and match from items such as the Cream of Chestnut Soup with Cognac and Pan fried Cubes of Foie Gras, or the Sauteed Frog Legs with Parsley Butter and Chopped Tomatoes, or the Terrine of Foie Gras with Benedictine Reduction and Dried Fig, just to name a few. The ala carte menu is not that economical, as the least expensive dishes start at around 500Baht and they go up from there. The ala carte menu includes fine dinning French selections that feature seafood, duck, escargot, a plethora of foie gras dishes, and even caviar and wagyu beef.
Another great promotion going on at Bonjour is the Wine Tasting Dinner which includes a 5 course dinner and 8 wines to taste plus a class conducted by a wine sommelier. The cost is 2950 Baht and takes place twice a month on Tuesdays. Reservations are required for this event and you can call Bonjour directly at 02 714 2112. What is wonderful about Bonjour restaurant is that they make delicious high end French food, but they also have specials and promotions that make fine French dining accessible to diners on a budget.
